Social Media Marketing
What’s the Deal Here?
Phuzzlings is a new free paint-by-numbers mobile app for iOS and Android. Phuzzlings needs more users, a lot more users. You can download it from the homepage.
Phuzzlings is like Instagram if every picture was a puzzle – except we care about quality so it’s invite-only, and we a care about artists so we share our revenue with them.
The Phuzzlings App and Company (us): We need content to attract more users. Users watch ads and buy coins and that generates revenue. Phuzzlings can handle millions of users, and will share the revenue they generate with the people who help achieve that. Phuzzlings can generate money from content.
Artists & Content Creators (them): They want new ways to share their content with the world. They also want ways to make money from their art. Artists have content and want to generate money.
Okay, You Need Artists and Content. So?
We have a problem.
The problem? Phuzzlings is completely new and artists and users don’t know about it – yet. It is a classic Catch-22. Users won’t come until Phuzzlings has lots of content. But artists won’t bring us their content until we have lots of users. It’s the chicken and the egg all over again. Once we lay the golden egg (content) the chickens (users) will come.
The solution? We need people to find and contact artists thru social media and help bring them and their art to the Phuzzlings app. This will lead to revenue for Phuzzlings, and we will share some of that with you.
Social Media Marketers (you): You have the tech skills and interpersonal skills to find artists online in the many places they show their art and tell them about Phuzzlings. You think you deserve some of the revenue those artists will generate. You are not wrong.
What Kind of Artists Should I Try to Find?
Honestly, the kind that makes you the most money. Because if you are making the most money that means there are lots of users enjoying the Phuzzlings app, the artists are making money and Phuzzlings is making money. Everybody wins.
So, what kinds of artists will bring in the most money? The kinds that bring in the most users, and have content that is enjoyable as a puzzle. Here are some ideas for selection criteria that you are free to use or modify:
- How interested is the artist in joining Phuzzlings? If the artist encourages their audience to try Phuzzlings you will get bigger payouts. If the artist does this regularly it is even better.
- Does the artist have a large following? This will give you a good initial payout that hopefully continues.
- Does the artist have an engaged following? A smaller but more engaged audience might get you bigger payouts than a larger but very casual audience.
- Does the artist post new content regularly? This would lead to payouts that increase over time.
- Is the artists work interesting, or fun, or beautiful? Phuzzlings will have its own artist rankings within the app. Once Phuzzlings has lots of users you might find that an artist that has a small audience outside of Phuzzlings gets you the biggest payouts because the Phuzzlings users really enjoy their art as puzzles.
- Is the artists work appropriate? The Phuzzlings app is rated for “everyone”, but it is not targeted at children. This means that the artwork does not need to be made for kids or interesting to kids. It just needs to be not offensive. If the artists work can be seen on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest it will be fine.
- Are artists who create AI-generated art allowed? Yes, there is a specific category for AI art. AI is a tool that can be used to create art and we do not discriminate based on the tools used.
- What kinds of art does not make good puzzles? Images that have lots of tiny details do not work well sometimes. However a photo of the trees in fall in Maine would work well because the tiny details of the leaves are not important to the overall image. Images that have large areas of the same color sometimes do not work well. However an interesting subject against a flat background might still work. If in doubt, take a screen grab and try it in Phuzzlings on “Easy” because that will create the lowest quality of “painting”.
- What about like IRL artists like sculptors or dancers? Sure. If the photographs of their art are suitable and you think they pass some or all of the criteria above.
When Can I Join the Phuzzlings Social Media Marketing Program?
Some of the features for new artists will be in Phuzzlings V1.2 which is targeted for the first week of November 2025. But you can ask to join before then, and you can start to engage with artists as they can download the current version of Phuzzlings to get the idea of it. If you find any artists who are particularly interested we can set them up so that their content is available in the Phuzzlings app on launch day.

How Does The Program Work?
First you need to understand how revenue sharing with the artists works – because your payments are tied to that.
Verified US persons (W-9) in good standing are eligible. We plan to expand to other countries in the future. You’ll agree to the earnings terms and provide basic payout/tax info. Creators must be over the age of majority or have a legal guardian sign on their behalf.
Net revenue tied to coins spent when your Phuzzles are played. “Net” means after app-store fees, ad-network adjustments/invalid traffic, refunds/chargebacks, taxes collected on our end, and payment processing costs. You can think of Net Revenue as *all* the money Phuzzlings actually gets, and before any costs and expenses are paid out.
We have no plans to discontinue the program, but we can’t guarantee future availability. We’ll provide advance notice before any material change.
