Trust Statements for Artists

Built for artists. You keep the rights. You earn a clear share when your puzzles are played. We publish how payouts work, what we keep, and how we protect you and your audience.

Snapshot (live metrics)

  • Last creator payout date: None yet – the program is that new
  • Creators paid to date: 0
  • Total paid to creators: $0.00
  • Charitable allocations to date: $0.00
  • Average time from month-end to payout: ~5 weeks

We update these numbers monthly after platform remittances post.

How revenue sharing works

Your share: 20% of Net Revenue attributable to your puzzles.
Net Revenue: Gross ad/in-app-purchase receipts attributable to your puzzles minus platform/app store fees, ad network fees, payment processing, taxes collected on behalf of authorities, refunds/chargebacks/invalid activity, and delivery costs directly tied to puzzle usage.

Payout cadence:

  • Apple/Google typically remit ~3 weeks after month-end.
  • We pay creators within 14 days after remittance (≈ 5 weeks after month-end).
  • Minimum payout: $100 (smaller amounts roll over).
  • 2026 scope: Revenue share is limited to U.S. creators (W-9 required). Non-U.S. creators may participate without revenue share in 2026 (to build your following). We expect to enable non-U.S. payouts in 2027 and may credit eligible revenue retroactive to Jan 1, 2027 after tax onboarding and any required withholding/reporting.
  • Payment methods: PayPal or ACH (U.S.).

Charity

  • Company allocation: Phuzzlings allocates 10% of Net Revenue that isn’t attributable to any specific creator(e.g., general participation) to qualified charities we select.
  • Creator election: You may route your own share to charity (all or part; month-to-month or per release). If your routed monthly share is ≥ $1,000, you may choose the recipient charity (eligibility checks apply).
  • Public recognition: With your consent, we may issue a press release noting the amount allocated and the recipient.

Accounting note: We treat these as charitable allocations by Phuzzlings (recorded on our books). We avoid the term “donation.”

Rights & Control

  • Ownership: You own your content. Our license is non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable, limited to creating/displaying puzzle files and reasonable promotion. No AI training will be using on your content.
  • Attribution: We display your name and links with your puzzles.
  • Removal: Remove any puzzle at any time. We stop new distribution promptly; cached copies may persist on devices/CDNs for a limited window.

Metadata & Provenance

  • We preserve rights metadata (EXIF/IPTC) where technically possible and show attribution in-app regardless.
  • Content Credentials: On our roadmap. Once active, we’ll embed a signed provenance manifest indicating when/where content entered the pipeline and key transforms. When launched, we’ll note it here and in your dashboard.

Safety, policy & compliance

  • Content guidelines: Art must be lawful and suitable for broad audiences;
  • DMCA: We honor takedown/counter-notice procedures.
  • Ad policies: Rewarded ads are opt-in. We do not encourage ad clicks/views to “support” individuals. Rewards for users are in-app only and non-cash.
  • Fraud/IVT: We use server-side verification and anomaly detection. Invalid activity may be reversed/offset in subsequent cycles.

Privacy

  • We do not sell personal data. We collect only what we need to operate the service, attribute revenue, fight fraud, and pay creators.
  • Location: For compliance, we store country at transaction time (from server-side geo at the moment coins are spent/earned). We do not collect precise GPS.

Payout Math Transparency

Each monthly statement shows:

  • Company Net Revenue
  • Company-wide 10% dollar allocation for artists and charities
  • Total coins spent by all users playing all content
  • Attributable plays and coins spent by users playing artist’s content
  • Artists share of total coin spend
  • Artists resulting share of dollar allocation
  • Carry-forwards/adjustments.

We may engage a CPA for Agreed-Upon Procedures spot-checks on payout math and post a summary here.

Roadmap (what’s next)

  • Non-U.S. payouts: targeted 2027 (with retroactive credits from Jan 1, 2027 after onboarding/withholding).
